How to Check for Safety Recalls on Your Vehicle Using DoNotPay ‘s Car Recall Monitor
If you own a vehicle, whether it’s used or new, it’s crucial to check for recalls. Driving a recalled vehicle can lead to accidents and fatalities.
How the Car Recall Monitor works:
- Tell us about your purchase, including the product name, brand, store you purchased the item from, price, and date of purchase. If you purchased the item online, enter your transaction details and payment method as well.
- Tell us how you found out about the recall.
- Choose whether you want a refund, repair, or replacement.
- Upload photographic evidence of your purchase and the product if you still have it.
- Choose whether you have the capacity to return the item or not.
And that’s it! DoNotPay will send your recall request to the manufacturing company on your behalf, asking for a refund, repair, or replacement. You should hear back from the company directly with confirmation and how the refund/replacement will be issued, or the next steps in getting the item repaired.
How Do I Make a Claim for Dodge Grand Caravan Recalls?
The whole process can be broken down into two general steps:
Get the Recall Notice
Your car’s manufacturer, Chrysler (FCA US LLC), or Vantage Mobility (manufacturers of wheelchair vehicle conversions) will issue you your Dodge Grand Caravan’s recall notice. Dealers or repair facilities can then carry out the mentioned repairs or part replacements.
If, for some reason, your car’s manufacturer doesn’t send you the notice, then here are the other ways to keep yourself informed about the much-needed alterations:
- You could see a recall notice in the media concerning your vehicle’s make and model.
- You can also go online and search for any recall notices issued for your vehicle model.
Schedule the Repairs
After learning your vehicle is due for a recall, the next step is to set an appointment for repairs or replacements to be made. You’ll then have to schedule this date with an authorized dealer or a private mechanic.
With an authorized dealer, there’s a good chance the replacements or repairs will be installed without any cost to the vehicle’s owner. If you decide to go the private mechanic route, you may have to foot the bill yourself.
Fiat Chrysler is recalling almost a million older Chrysler and Dodge minivans and SUVs because a defect with the airbag may launch plastic debris into the cabin when it deploys.
Recalls Safety Issues
This is a record of safety issues for vehicles of this year, make, model and trim. If you are a vehicle owner, search for recalls by your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The vehicle identification number tells you if your car is affected.
