SEO Domination – Lesson 6 dari Brad Callen
Alright, so this lesson is going to be a little different from the previous ones. There won’t be a video in this lesson because it’s easier for me to explain with just text.
But before we get started, if you wouldn’t mind, could you please let me know if you prefer the video lesson format, as opposed to an all text lesson like this?
I’m trying to figure out which style is the best and most helpful for you. So, please scroll down to the bottom of the page and leave a comment to let me know. It would be MUCH appreciated. Thank ya.
Now on to today’s lesson…
Today we’re going to talk about how to get your web pages indexed SUPER quickly in Google. There are a few fundamental lessons of web marketing which you’ll need to know to be successful. One of those core lessons and one that I learned the hard way was that Google is not looking for you, your website, or your content… EVER.
I’m sure you’ve heard a billion people tell you that all you need to do is set up a website that looks nice and sells a great product and you’ll make millions. I sure heard it a lot when I first got started online.
This is where a lot of website owners fall short. They have a website, they have content but they are not showing up in the search engines.
Think of it like this:
Scenario #1: You just purchased a brand new home and are giving people directions. Your home is directly off a major highway and is visible from the exit. Your directions are “Get on highway 1, take exit 43 and turn into the only green house on the blockâ€. Easy right?
Scenario #2: Your new home is a beautiful estate on a remote island. In order to find it you have to travel 30 minutes by car across a major highway, take 6 exits through rural small towns, hop on a ferry across a small lake, rent a horse and buggy to get across the island and walk 1 mile to find the home nestled behind a bank of large trees and invisible to all who are unaware of its existence.
Our little buddy Google will only find your place if its easy to find, so no matter how amazing of a house (i.e. website) you have, in scenario 2 you won’t be getting any visitors anytime soon.
The above analogy is also fitting as it utilizes the concept of roads. Consider a Google spider a car and links as a road. Google spiders follow the path of links, pointing to your site, to discover new content. And because of that, content that is heavily linked to OR linked in areas which more Google spidering occurs get found much more rapidly.
This is the key to getting indexed (i.e. found) by Google. Understand this and getting your site indexed will no longer be a problem.
Allow me to highlight some of the many tools at your disposal to allow for rapid indexing of new content.
Like it or not Twitter is a massive website with massive traffic.  Massive traffic = massive spider activity.  In the day of caffeine and the “real time web†these sites are your BEST tool to getting indexed.  How do you achieve this result?  Do you have a twitter account?  If not GET ONE JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE!
Here is how simple this tactic is:
Setup account
Fill in profile
Add your link
Voila! Â Here is a great example of how this looks once completed:
Google visits your Twitter page, Google follows links, Google finds your new content. Â So this is great if you have a Twitter account and especially great if you have a Twitter account with 200 or more followers.
Digg
Digg doesn’t get enough credit for how great of a site it is and how great of a tool it can be for you as a web marketer. Much like Twitter, it gets boat-loads of traffic and thus lots of action from Google. Links on Digg get rapidly spidered and actually have a tendency to get some nice free backlinks, as well, if your story is made popular. That’s a lesson for another day though.
How easy is this one you ask? Just setup an account and submit a new link!
Just pick a news article and post in your link to the content you want spidered. Chances are you won’t get “Duggâ€, but who cares. We just want the link and not necessarily the traffic. Google will see you and follow your link. This tactic can be used on the following sites as well:
reddit.com
stumbleupon.com
delicious.com
propeller.com
newsvine.com
Youtube
Much like the previous websites, (see a pattern forming here) YouTube is a massive website which gets tons of traffic.
High Traffic = High Spider Activity
Like the other websites, YouTube is free to join and this tactic is free and easy. Not that YouTube isn’t a major source of traffic as it is, people overlook it for tactics like this. Here is how it works.
Simply setup a “channel†in youtube and add some content to it. If you’re not video savvy, I have an alternative: http://animoto.com. Animoto is a free website which allows you to stream together a set of images and put it to music. It looks slick and gets you into video with no extra cash.
On your channel you have the option to post a URL here:
Post the URL you want indexed in the website field. Not too much later you will be indexed!
Meta Websites
So let’s assume you are not willing to setup content on each of the sites I mentioned above and you’re looking for another option. It just so happens I have one…
Across the internet, there are lots of websites which are designed to capture usage stats and report on estimated traffic numbers. These sites are both an excellent tool for getting new sites indexed AND for grabbing a few new links. Here is an example:
Go to http://www.statbrain.com
Put your domain name in place of â€DOMAINNAMEâ€. Once you do you get this:
Checkout the LIVE LINK. This gets spidered and will send Google your way a lot faster.
This is one example. I have a few more to get you rolling as well.

Replace the “yourdomain†text with your website and enter it into the search box. That’s all there is to it!
Social Bookmarking
This is perhaps one of the easiest ways to get your web pages indexed quickly; however, the type of links you’ll be getting from this are nowhere near the quality that you would get from the methods mentioned above.
Most use “social bookmarking†as a way to get the pages that you have links on, indexed quickly. If you can make sure Google sees about and knows about the pages that link to you, they’ll get counted into your ranking and will help push you to the top.
And the opposite is true if a link to your site is on a web page that is not indexed, that Google doesn’t know about, it won’t count into your rankings and your work will have been all for not.
To learn more about social bookmarking, just perform a Google search for it. There’s plenty of info out there and it’s very easy to do.
Alrighty, so with these 5 options on the table, you will never be at a loss for getting your website (and websites that your links appear on) indexed again!
That wraps up this lesson. Tomorrow I’m going to be sending you a VERY special lesson that will tell you exactly how I personally got started online. What some of my mistakes were, as well as some of the things I’ve learned over time.
It will really help you and motivate you to strive to be the best you can be. So stay on the lookout for that email tomorrow!
Oh, and please post a comment below to let me know which lesson style you prefer, text or video with text summary format.
Thanks!
